This privacy policy sets out the way that Carmichael Entertainment Pty Ltd (ABN 80 603 564 772), trading as Monster Madness, and its ticketing partner Flicket (we, us, or our) comply with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable Australian privacy laws and regulations (Privacy Laws). This policy governs how we collect, use and protect any personal information you provide to us, whether online, via phone, text, email, in letters or in other correspondence.
This privacy policy explains:
- what information we may collect about you and how we store it;
- how we will use and store information we collect about you;
- when we may use your details to contact you;
- whether we will disclose your details to anyone else;
- how long we keep your information;
- your choices regarding the personal information you provide to us;
- how to access, correct or complain about the handling of your information; and
- the use of cookies on our website and how you can exercise choices in relation to those cookies.
THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We may collect information about you (such as your name, address, telephone number, date of birth and email address) through:
- you contacting us directly (including via social media);
- providing goods or services to you;
- your use of our ticketing services;
- you filling out a form on our website or at an event (including competition entries and lead forms); and
- accessibility or special assistance requests you make in connection with attending an event.
Where you tell us about an accessibility requirement so that we can assist you at an event, we collect only what we need to provide that assistance, and we use it for that purpose only.
HOW WE USE THIS INFORMATION
We will use your personal information for purposes including:
- fulfilling your ticket purchase and corresponding with you about your booking;
- providing event updates, including changes to event details, postponements or cancellations (by email or SMS);
- managing entry to the event, including scanning tickets and administering add-on products such as pit party access;
- for marketing purposes where you have specifically consented;
- to verify your identity and process transactions;
- for internal administration and reporting; and
- for any other purposes for which you have given permission.
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
We will only contact you for marketing purposes where you have provided consent. You may opt out at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Event updates relating to a ticket you have purchased - such as a change of time, a postponement or a cancellation - are service messages rather than marketing, and will be sent to you regardless of your marketing preferences.
SHARING AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We will only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected. We may share your personal information with our professional advisors, legal authorities and courts, event venues, and third party service providers (including web hosting and cloud storage providers) where reasonably required.
Where you have opted in to receive marketing communications, we may also share your contact details with event sponsors and commercial partners so they can provide you with offers and information relevant to the events you attend. We do not sell your personal information. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
We may also disclose personal information where required by law or with your consent.
SECURITY OF INFORMATION
We are committed to keeping personal information secure and will use all reasonable precautions to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We cannot guarantee the privacy of information transmitted over the internet.
HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it by law. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or permanently de-identify it.
ACCESSING OR CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION
You have the right to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Please contact us using the details below. Your request will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
COMPLAINTS
If you believe your privacy has not been handled appropriately, please contact us using the details below and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Our events are family events and our tickets are generally purchased by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without the involvement of a parent or guardian. Where a ticket is purchased for a child, we collect the purchaser's details rather than the child's.
SECURE ONLINE PAYMENTS
As a standard policy, we do not store credit card details. When making a purchase through our website or associated ticketing services, your credit card details are securely processed using Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment gateway. All transferred data is encrypted over an SSL connection.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING AT EVENTS
Official photography, film and sound recordings are taken at our events and may include images of patrons. By attending, you consent to being included in those recordings and to their use by us and our authorised representatives, as set out in our Event Terms and Conditions. If you have a concern about an image of you being used, please contact us.
